Product Description The Control 23 is one of the most compact of JBL Professional's Control Contractor Series indoor/outdoor loudspeakers. The Control 23 speakers are a perfect choice for patios, foyers, retail or other applications where foreground/background music and paging are required, with minimum aesthetic impact. The unique InvisiBall mounting hardware makes short work of permanent installation. The InvisiBall mounting method adds the benefit of vertical rotation of up to 37° off-axis and horizontal rotation of up to 44° off-axis. Because InvisiBall adjustments are behind the logo badge, the grille never needs to be removed and there exists a high degree of theft deterrence as well. The Control 23 readily accepts a variety of paints and finishes to match any decor. Weather resistance is maximized by coating the woofer cone in polypropylene and terminating its circumference in JBL's WeatherEdge, a seamless, rubberized extension of the woofer surround that provides added protection to critical transducer elements. The polycarbonate tweeter diaphragm is reinforced with a thin film of titanium for added rigidity and endurance against sun, salt and moisture. Zinc-plated grilles resist rusting in the harshest conditions. You can't go wrong with speakers from the company whose name is synonymous with cinema sound and was voted number one in the recording industry in 1976 (the heyday of recording) by studio professionals. Customer Reviews:
Puts Cambridge Soundworks' competing speaker in the dust!September 7, 2008 Looking for sound that easily rivals that of the theater? Look no further than the Control 23 satellite speakers from JBL. Don't let their small form factor deceive you, the sound quality is nearly pristine, and I never use the word, "Pristine" lightly when it comes to home audio.
I recently came across these speakers at my friend's house. I asked him for a sound demo, and he threw in a Blu-Ray of Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End. He fast forwarded to a good action sequence, and I was blown out of my seat. The clarity and depth of the sound put me in the battle, as I was constantly having to look at my friend in amazement and shock to snap me out of the action. These little cabinets beautifully reproduced all areas of the sound spectrum with grace and efficiency, as well as maintaining zero distortion, even at high volume levels. I looked at my friend and said, "Where do I buy them? Tell me now." I bought a pair, and replaced my old MC100's from Cambridge Soundworks with these. I thought my old MC100's sounded good, but boy, these blew those out of the water. I was amazed how sound so rich and full could come out of a cabinet this size. All I can recommend to you is you experience the detail, depth, and clarity that these babies can produce. Buy a pair for yourself, and listen to the near-perfection that the JBL Control 23 satellites can create in your own home. Heck, why not buy two pairs? The more the merrier.
