Good sound/powerMarch 26, 2008 I own 2 JBL 512M's. I love these speakers. I checked out the EON series before, but didn't like them so much. I also checked out the ElectroVoice speakers, why these? I might have to use these speakers on 220 volts as well, these I can switch. The sound quality is very good, much better than the EON series. I haven't had the problem with the AC plug falling out... hope it doesn't happen.

JBL PRX512M 2-Way 12" Powered Speaker Cabinet, 12" I USUALLY LOVE JBL PRODUCTS - BUT HERE IS AN EXCEPTION. I BOUGHT 4 OF THESE AS WEDGES (Monitors) - 2 came from NewVista through Amazon. I ALSO SPOKE WITH OTHERS WHO BOUGHT THESE AS WELL. ALL WERE BOUGHT FROM DIFFERENT RETAILERS AT DIFFERENT TIMES - BUT ALL SHARE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN USED AS FLOOR MONITORS, THE AC POWER CABLES COME OUT FREQUENTLY - YOU CAN ONLY DELAY IT TEMPORARILY WITH UGLY LOOKING DUCT TAPE . AND, IF YOU USE DUCT TAPE, IT'S SEEN ON THE PART THAT DOES FACE THE AUDIENCE - IT LOOKS REALLY BAD. ATTEMPTS TO CRAFT A REAL RESTRAINING DEVICE FOR THE CABLE CAN BE INVOLVED, AND CAN EASILY VOID WARRANTY. THE LOUDER THE MUSIC BEING PLAYED, AND THE MORE THE VIBRATION, THE FASTER THE POWER CABLE WIGGLES ITS WAY OUT. ITS REALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A SOUND COMPANY OR BAND TO HAVE POWERED MONITORS THAT SHUT DOWN COUNTLESS TIMES PER NIGHT.
