Good discsNovember 26, 2008 I strongly agree that Memorex does not have high standards (the new 8x DVD-DL are remarkably bad), however these DVD-R's have worked just fine for me.
Great Quality on Blank MediaOctober 13, 2008 Another brand that I barely find a coaster on is the Memorex DVD-R's. It is as par as with the Maxells, Sony's, Verbatims and RiDatas that I have used before. Try to stay away from unknown brands that is kind of a hit or miss. The thing with DVD's or CD's is that when you find a bad one, it seems to be bunched into the same stack as they were manufactured at the same place and at the same time. My recommendation is not to burn DVDs or CDs using the maximum speed, the chance of a bad burn tend to be much much less if you use the next slower speed indicated on the media. Same as filling up the data capacity, 4200mb seems to work best for me as filling up the DVD to the edge may become problematic.
Good productOctober 6, 2008 Memorex DVD-Rs are, I have found, the best overall value for the money. I have a reasonably recent Sony DVD+/-RW recorder with BluRay capability and found that some of the non-mainstream brands would fail during burning. The Memorex DVD-Rs are consistently good quality, and I have had only one fail out of three 50-Pack spindles.
Highly recommended!
Don't Buy this brandApril 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the Memorex DVD-R and they were all defective. They wouldn't read or record. Save yourself the trouble and cost and buy somebody else's brand.
DONT BUY MEMOREX!!!!!!!April 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These things are CHEAP! And I don't mean that in the sense that they're a bargain, they're a ripoff. I tried to save some money and get these instead of a better brand. Failed burn, after failed burn, after failed burn. I ONLY BOUGHT A 10 PACK AND I'VE GOT 4 COASTERS!! If you want quality blank media, get Sonys. And If you really want superior quality then invest in some Taiyo Yuden brand media. They Are the best buy far. I've burned literally hundreds of disks on them and NEVER had a failed burn.
