It Is What It Is...April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the price, this guitar case does the job. It is much flimsier than I expected, and I was a bit taken aback with the bright gold latches - for some reason I thought they'd be steel/silver in color - but I guess what can you expect for the price and $3.95 shipping?
I would've upgraded to their next case which has plush lining to protect my guitar better since this case seems to seriously be heavy cardboard with a plastic coating, but the shipping on that item was upwards of $28. Quite a difference in price.
I am a newb at the guitar and so this case will serve its purpose for now - protecting my inexpensive instrument. Just know that the case is not extremely sturdy and you get what you pay for!
I would not purchase this case if you have an expensive guitar that you cart around from gig to gig that needs protection. If you are a beginner like me and have a so-so guitar, it will work, hopefully, until you are ready for an upgrade.
TerribleApril 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this because I needed a hard case to transport my guitar when going on the bus (which once or twice every two months). I read the amazon reviews which were basically all positive at the time. I didn't expect a really nice case, just something that would get the job done.
The exterior of the case is OK. Questionable, it's really thin and doesn't seem like it would hold up to much force. Kinda like a more rigid cardboard.
The interior is terrible. There's absolutely NOTHING.
I would not spend the money on this case again even at 20$. I agree with the other person who said a gig bag offers more protection simply because there's no padding whatsoever on the inside.
Great Price..Very Poor QualityApril 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchaed this guitar case and was very disappointed with the quality when it arrived. I bought it because it was the cheapest semi-hard case available, but I am going to return it. It is basically cardboard with some synthetic covering. The box that your guitar came in when purchased will provide about the same protection. There is no lining or padding at all inside of this case. I guess you could put a towel on the inside to add padding and stability, but that would make it look even more "getto". My case arrived damaged wih a dent in the bottom from bouncing around the box. The latches, hinges and handle are okay. I was not expecting much for the price, but the inside of the case was the biggest disappointment. This case will not protect your instrument and could damge it. Finally, it is $10 cheaper on the ZZounds website, but it is still not worth it. I saw a lot of positive reviews for this case, I totally don't get it. Your guitar will be much safer and better protected in a padded gig bag.
Great value! Free shipping!March 31, 2008 This case offers better protection for a guitar than a gig bag. It is lightweight and is much less of a hassle to place the guitar into, than a gig bag, as well. My dreadnought guitar fits in, with room to spare. I put an extra humidifier into the storage compartment, as it has a small hole on top. The real purpose of the hole is to put your finger in, to open the compartment, but it came in handy for this purpose as well. If your home is very dry, you might consider doing this, if you have this guitar case. If you are travel around a lot with your guitar, as I do, you can easily put a towel on top of the guitar, in the case, to protect the guitar by adding the padding from the towel.. The case will still remain lightweight and easy to carry. This is a nice inexpensive case, with free shipping. If you have a tendency to bump into things, you might consider this case. It will serve you better than a gig bag, especially if you put a towel on top of your guitar, when traveling.
