Best printer in a long timeDecember 2, 2008 Had the MP620 about 3 weeks now and it really works great. Wireless setup required some tweaks in the PC's firewall but other than that was painless although the set up guide was a bit confusing so take some time to study it before moving ahead. Unlike a lot of recent printer manufacturers, Canon does not try to force you to use their photo management software which I think is great, they just give you the tools you need to run the printer. Printer is remarkably quiet while printing and scanning. Excellent value considering Ethernet, 802.11 and USB printing AND wireless scanning support. Print and scan quality is excellent.
One important tip, the Amazon web page may list the incorrect ink for this machine, the correct ink is the 220 and 221 series of ink!
Printer is great, Supplied data on suggested ink is WRONG!December 1, 2008 The MP620 Cannon wireless printer works great and was pretty easy to set up wireless. Pictures look much better than my prior Cannon 2000. Watch out for Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" items with this printer. The ink cartriges sugested are WRONG! I had to send some back. The correct ones are the CLI-221 set of four color tanks and the separate PGI-220BK black tank.
Canon MP620 - Great ProductDecember 1, 2008 The Canon MP620 is a great product. Network/wireless set-up was simple. A little slow to start printing and scanning over wireless but that was expected. Great print quality using included canon software. I would recommend this product from Canon.
AwesomeNovember 30, 2008 Great for photos. Black & white printing is comparable to my HP laser printer. Easy wireless set-up, now I don't have to worry about another cable connected to my laptop. Overall outstanding printer for the price of $99.
A PARTIAL REVIEWNovember 30, 2008 I purchased this printer on the recommendations of other reviewers of this and other products; and, because I decided I would like a printer that does a better job with photos than my old printer and, possibly, wireless but that wasn't too expensive. My old printer had quit printing in black and the nice man at Hewlett Packard in Calcutta said they don't repair them so I needed a new printer right away. I ordered this one directly from Amazon: the price was good, shipping free and it arrived very promptly and in excellent condition.
So far, I have only hooked it up via USB cable and installed the software in my MAC OS X 10.3.9 MAC BOOK and used it for copying directly from the computer. (It will not work on older versions of MAC OS X.) I am not the most computer literate person and I did not have too much difficulty doing this via the GETTING STARTED MANUAL and the Installation CD-ROM. The USB cable came in the box as well as the ink cartridges. Once installed and loaded with paper, it was ready to print.
It takes a little bit of time getting started but, once it is ready, it prints really quickly and fairly quietly, and the quality is good. The only "negative" is that it is larger than most "home" printers.
I felt I couldn't give this printer 5 Stars because I am unable at this time to review all its functions and ease of installation. I don't know how long the ink cartridges last or how expensive and easy to find they will be.
