Watch High-definition Digital TV on Your Computer With dual format TV tuners, the WinTV-HVR-1600 lets you watch ATSC digital TV as well as QAM digital TV and analog cable TV. ATSC digital TV, which typically requires an antenna for reception, is the over-the-air HDTV standard for North America. The WinTV-HVR-1600 also lets you watch and record QAM channels, which are unencrypted digital channels broadcast by your local cable operator. If you don't have access to digital television channels yet, you can also watch regular analog cable television.
In addition to high-definition video, the card also features a dbx-TV stereo decoder for great TV sound. The card has Composite/S-Video and audio inputs that allow for connecting VCRs or cable/satellite set top boxes. The card also includes an FM radio tuner that lets you listen to your favorite FM radio broadcasts.

Analog TV is going away at the beginning of 2009, and digital is available now. So why would you want to pay extra to have an analog tuner you can use for only a year? This product was a good choice in years past when digital TV was just getting started, BUT NOT ANYMORE! So just buy yourself a less expensive digital-only tuner and be done with it. I've tried several brands, but have had the best luck with the VBox Cats Eye 150 ATSC (digital only) myself. I now have four in my pvr/dvr, and they all work flawlessly. P.S. Beware of tuners selling for around $50 or less; they're junk.

This Card isn't quite like the normal WINTVR-1600. It has the addition of a fm tuner as well, which surprised me when I opened the box. This card WILL, however drastically affect the heat output of your system. This card is doing a lot of work, and it outputs at a heat level to match

Anyone needing a hdtv card for there pc needs this card. It meets the requirement of haveing an analog tuner and the two tuners record at the sane time. I have a really cheap antenna and it locks on fully to all the channels I have the antenna faced at. I did't need the remote either because I use my Xbox to watch my tv recordings not my computer. Hope you all get this card becuase it rocks. I am replacing my two pvr 150s with another one of these bad boys.
