Product Description The new models of MD Walkman have attained extremely small size and lightweight through the development of a new optical pickup that has fewer components and through further integration of electrical circuits. This Jacket Size MD Walkman Player slips easily and securely into jacket or coat pocket and is easy to hold and carry. It features Easy Pop-Up Eject Mechanism that ejects the MiniDisc media and allows easy insertion and removal while on the go. Shock Resistant Memory resists bumps or vibrations while the laser scans ahead on the disc and stores 40 seconds of music in memory, for virtually skip-free playback. Digital Mega Bass Sound System provides rich, deep bass tones with digital signal processing for virtually inaudible harmonic distortion. Multiple Playback Modes Including Normal, Repeat 1/All/Shuffle lets you play through a MiniDisc from start to end, repeat one track or all tracks, or play tracks in random (shuffle) order. New Slim LCD Stick Remote provides direct access to the player's functions, such as display of song title, disc title, playback status, and battery function. It also features a stereo mini jack for headphones. Automatic Volume Limiter System (AVLS) maintains volume output below strong signal levels, for listener comfort. Up to 12 Hours Playback with 1 "AA" Sony Alkaline Battery (LR6SG) is made possible by advanced technology that allows extended battery life beyond previous limits. Battery Level Indicator on Remote shows you at a glance when battery power is low.
Amazon.com Product Description Sony's MZ-E60 Minidisc Walkman offers 40-second antiskip memory and an automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) that maintains consistent volume levels for clean sound reproduction. Playback options include normal, repeat 1 or all, and shuffle. The digital Mega Bass system produces deep low-end tones with virtually inaudible harmonic distortion.
The Sony MZ-E60 runs on a single AA battery, and the average battery life clocks in at approximately 12 hours. The supplied headphones plug directly into the slim LCD remote control. The remote, which can slip into your pocket, provides track information and battery life, and it controls volume and disc operations. A carrying pouch is included as well.
Sony provides a warranty of one year on parts and 90 days on labor.

Sonido BestialMarch 30, 2001 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
One of the few good sony products I have ownedJanuary 31, 2001 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
As you probably guessed from the title, I am not a fan of sony consumer electronics. Don't get me wrong, I love sony professional equipment; I have a trinitron monitor that fell off a 4 foot cart and works perfectly. Their consumer stuff, however, has gotten progressivley worse over the past years.
On the contrary, this is a very good MD player. Batteries last a good long time in it, Its got dual hold switches so it wont turn on in your pocket, and the remote is easier to use than most. Sound quality is very good, provided you use your own headphones as the supplied are sub-standard. My one dislike of the product is the bulge on the bottom allowing it to use a standard AA battery; I wouldof thouhgt a gumstick slot sufficient. While i normally dislike sony products (Did I mention that?) I found this a good player. (Needless to say it was a gift).
--- Caveat Emptor ---
Buyer beware (Thats what the latin means) however, for I have heard many sony horror stories, and I would not be supprised to see a great inconsistency in the output quality of their devices. Bottom line, sony customer service is abhorrable, so if you buy this, youll be on your own.
*I* feel it is a good product, from my personal experience with it. Based on my past experience, I am quite reluctant to reccomend a sony product, even a good one, to anybody. I say, play it safe and choose a different brand.
Light and CompactDecember 18, 2000 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This MD player is of great quality. A top notch product. The features of this product that stood out to me were the wonderful sound that it produced it is very clear even with the cheap headphones that come with it. On the downside it doesn't record.
Awesome Sound/Remarkable PortabilityNovember 4, 2000 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This little player is remarkable in its ability to provide such extraordinary sound from a package barely larger than the MiniDisc itself.
The case is made of an extremely lightweight, but durable metal. The only plastic is the inline remote control and headphones. While most operational functions are duplicated on the backside of the player's case, you will want to keep the remote control handy since it contains the LCD status display.
Sony's Digital Mega Bass does a great job elevating the very deep bass without adding appreciable distortion. A slight rise in the higher frequencies is also noticeable.
I highly recommend this Sony MiniDisc player. Finally, the true replacement for old-school cassette tapes seems to be available for a price that doesn't break the bank.
