Better than the iTripNovember 29, 2008 I used to own a Griffin iTrip, but unfortunately it got stolen out of my car. So I had to buy a new one. While looking on Amazon, I stumbled upon this device. And by the looks of it, I thought that this was exactly what I needed! It mounts iPod in place next to my radio, which makes it easier to work with. Also, as with the iTrip, if I'm going up a hill, there's the danger of the iPod falling off of my dashboard. No more with the RoadTrip. Also, the sound is better than the iTrip, and there's little to no interference, and I live in Philadelphia, where it's pretty hard to find an empty radio station. So if you're out in the middle of nowhere, it's gonna be even better for you! Not to say the the iTrip wasn't a great device, It certainly came in handy for me. But I'm gonna have to say that the RoadTrip is a far superior product, and would recommend it to anybody looking for something like this for their iPod.
Very pleased with thisNovember 22, 2008 I just bought the other day and I am very pleased. I had another FM modulator that did nothing except blow static through my speakers. I was a little skeptical about this one but gave it a try. I can honestly say the quality is unbelieveable, no static, perfect reception just all around great. Only downfall is that it is a little bulky but it does work perfect!
Only works in cars with integrated antennasNovember 16, 2008 I picked this product as a gift for my sister who is in love with her iPod. We're talking a 60+ grandma here -- not a teenager. I spent several hours researching, reading reviews, and trying to determine which would be the best product. I picked this one because it was supposed to work well in a Saturn which is what they have. Unfortunately, it worked very well in my Highlander Hybrid with an integrated antenna but did not work well at all in the Saturn. Lots and lots of static in the Saturn to the point that even people like us who aren't audio snobs couldn't stand it. So, if you have a car with an integrated antenna located in the windshield; i.e., it's directly over the radio and so is your power source, then this is a great product. If you have a car with an antenna located on the rear or side of the car, forget it.
Save on batteriesOctober 16, 2008 We had been using a Belkin to connect and communicate our Ipod and XM Radio to our cars and boats. The triple A batteries would run out quickly which is a big expense and the connection would be fuzzy without always having strong batteries. The Griffin Transmitter has eliminated all batteries and the expense in addition, we always have a good connection.
Not badSeptember 2, 2008 Not too bad after you find a clear station. Did spend a lot of time messing with it to get a clear signal.
