Product Description Sangean's DT-200VX builds on the success of its predecessor, the DT-200V - a popular belt radio for over a decade. It has great selectivity and responsiveness and picks up stations in areas where no other radio could. Along with great reception in the classic black case, you'll also get the handy belt clip, a set of ear buds and an external antenna. The DT-200VX also has a clock, backlight and deep bass boost. The 19-band memory and memory seeker makes it easy to tune in, and the large LCD display makes it easier to see. The Sangean legacy of superior reception and sensitivity are here, with additional features that it even better. Amazon.com Product Description The ultimate pocket radio, Sangean's popular DT200V is imminently compact but loaded with convenient features, from its 19 station presets to its drift-free, PLL synthesized tuning, auto station scanning, TV sound reception, and handy belt clip. Listen through the built-in speaker or the supplied ear bud headphones. Forgot to turn it off? No worries: it shuts itself off after 60 minutes to conserve batteries (its sole source of power). The radio's high-impact ABS case virtually guarantees long life.
Batteries should last 30 to 40 hours at moderate volume through the unit's single speaker and slightly longer on the included ear bud headphones. Pocket use was taken into account even at the level of ear bud manufacture: if you put your radio in your pocket, it's less distance to one ear than to the other, so one side of the headphone cord is accordingly shorter. The DT200V runs on 2 AA batteries, not included.
What's in the Box Radio, ear bud headphones, belt clip, trailing antenna, and a user's manual.
Pocket RadioNovember 30, 2008 I purchased this radio for listening to TV audio. I enjoy listening to TV news in the morning and evening. Warning! Effective February 2009 all TV analog transmission will stop. Only digital TV transmission will be available. No more analog TV audio. What a disappointment. If TV audio is not important to you the radio is great. I enjoyed listening to AM/FM radio. The radio is made of good plastic material. Battery life is better than previous Sangean models. Pro: Nice small radio Con: No digital TV Tuner
Good radioNovember 27, 2008 I bought my DT200VX to use during my long van pool commute when I could not hear the van's radio. The DT200VX isn't as sensitive as I had expected, but probably not unexpected, given the strength of the stations and the fact that I'm picking them up from inside the van. Other similar radios are probably no better. Sensitivity is much better around the house. Controls are easy to use once I became familiar with them. Ear phones give good quality sound. All in all, it does what I want and I recommend it.
Sangean pocket radioNovember 16, 2008 The Sangeon Pocket radio is one of the better pocket radios that I have used. I made the mistake of putting a magnetically sensitive transit pass in my pocket when the radio was turned off and the transit pass still demagnitized. (My fault and not the radio)
Sangean DT200VX shirt-pocket radioNovember 11, 2008 Sophisticated shirt pocket radio for personal listening. Small speaker does NOT have "room-filling sound." AM &FM reception very good. Good adjacent-signal rejection. Serves purpose well when it is not possible to listen to a table-top radio, or sound system.
Sangean RadioNovember 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is our second Sangean pocket radio, the first one lasted 6-7 years before the battery compartment wiring corroded from a leaking battery. This new unit features new features, like the backlight and more memory, than the previous DT100 model. It should hopefully last as long as the last one. The only concern is the switch to Digital TV in February, I imagine we will lose the TV reception. That is too bad, as my wife uses it to listen to Letterman and the late shows with a pillow speaker. I dropped a star (4 out of 5) due to Sangean not addressing this issue which is scheduled in just three months.
