Customer Reviews:
NIce product, but have big armsMarch 30, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
it's a nice product, well made, cool design. However, even on my average size arms, there's about 2 inches of extra armband sticking out past the velcro. If you're a big guy, it's prbly fine for you. If you're a young person, a woman, or a skinny runner (or all three) you might want to look for something that fits a little better. Not sure who they sized when they made this item.
Great for working outMarch 25, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my nano to use while working out, and I am very pleased. It snugly hold the nano in place, while still leaving it very accessible for fiddling with the controls. It looks good and has proven to be durable.
Nano ArmbandMarch 14, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Works great. 2nd Gen has a sleeve inside the band that can hold an ID or key while you run. Fits a 1st Gen nano as well. Also comes with a velcro pouch you can put on your shoe if you use the Nike product. Definitely recommend.
Great Quality, Poor FunctionalityFebruary 9, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
First, let me say that I have purchased and heavily-used several iPod products from Speck before, with great satisfaction. The quality of their products for iPods is unmatched. With that said, this product design was very poor. I'm not sure why they changed their armband for the 2G Nano from the version they made for the 1G Nano. I'll break it down:
Pros: + Excellent quality and workmanship - High quality and reflective materials. + Would probably work fairly well if you only use this for running.
Cons: - Armband is NOT flexible (stretchy), so if you use this for working out with weights, it is really difficult to find a tightness that works. You're constantly adjusting it to keep comfortable. I have left pinchmarks on my arm several times from working out with this armband. - It is extremely annoying to have to take your iPod out of this armband if you use it anywhere else. The "old" Speck 1G armband actually integrated the armband and skin so you only had to pop it out of the holder to use it anywhere else. Now I have to take it out of one and put it into another.
Overall, unless you are only going to use this for running occasionally, don't buy this armband. I would have liked to get my money back, but since I've already sweated in this one trying it out, I guess I'm just out the $30 bucks.
Speck - If you are listening, PLEASE bring back the design used for the 1G so I can buy it for my 2G. Even though I already spent $30 on this one, I will gladly spend $30 more on the older design. It's worth $60.
