Ummm, no! Not much sound, does not include needed accessories...July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these thinking I could use them to play music at the beach for my wife and I, without bothering a lot of other people. I was excited when they arrived, and plugged 4 AA batteries in to test them. Hit the music on the mp3 player, cranked the sound to max, and cranked the sound on the speakers to max. Not much sound. Checked the connections...all tight. Unplugged the speakers and plugged in headphones...music, if not overly loud. I laid the headphones down with the speakers out...yep, louder than these "speakers". I could hear HEADPHONES laid on the table better than these!
Fine print in the docs..."for best results, use an AC power supply with a 5v output (not included)". I will try these with the power supply and see if it improves performance any and report back if it does, but as of now, I have to say these are useless for anything other than a very QUIET room. e.g. no AC or the like! So, they do not put out much sound, does not include needed accessories (the power adapter), and will not do what I bought them for. 1 star-Would NOT recommend!
UPDATE: Got a 5v power supply for this against my better judgment. $9.95 at Best Buy. Save your money and get the JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System ( Black ) instead! I got these today, and they are PERFECT for my needs! Loud enough to hear over an ocean, small, portable and nice sound! THESE I will recommend!
