Product Description The USA Spec iPod Interface Cable connects, controls, charges, and plays an iPod through the factory stereo system of most vehicle brands. Get pure Digital Sound of your iPod into your factory radio. This cable also adds optional auxiliary input to connect any standard portable stereo device plus iPod connection.
USA SPEC PA11-HON works excellent!!!March 9, 2008 I purchased one of these for my 2003 Civic Hybrid with some of the gas money saved. I installed it in about 15 minutes and was playing my iPod through the radio controls, just like the specifications say. It is excellent! Random, next track, etc., all from the factory radio controls! When you turn the car off, it stops. When you turn the car back on, it resumes right where it left off. You can tuck it out of sight to avoid temptation, because there is no need to mess with it. It's great to buy a product which performs as well as this from the start. No calls to tech, no returns. A first class product which will give you first class results!
Works flawlesslyMarch 7, 2008 I installed this in our '99 Odyssey. It took less than an hour. The hardest part was removing the dash panel, after that it was a piece of cake. Our Honda factory stereo (CD) sees the iPod as a CD changer. I can forward to the next song by pressing the forward button on the steering wheel. I can also control the iPod from the stero controls or the iPod itself. I like it so much I plan to get one for my '99 CRV as well.
awesome productJanuary 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own the USA SPEC PA11HON2y b/c I have a navigation system, but this review is also relevant for this model.
Let me start by saying this is an amazing product, but I have to give it 4 stars because the first unit I received was defective and only played audio through the left channel... so the build quality is less than perfect. However, the merchant I purchased it from gladly replaced it, and it works fine now (luckly he was also located in so. cal. so i could just drive to his place instead of paying extra shipping charges). Also, anyone installing this in a 2003 Honda Accord will have remove the ENTIRE stereo to access the cable in the back to plug into the y-connector (my car has a navigation system, im not sure if this is the case for all 2003 accords). This was a huge pain for me, and added a few extra hours to my project. As for the 2004 and up models, installation is much easier as you can access the cord at the bottom of the stereo by simply removing the bin. There are multiple online guides that can guide you with pictures and everything (google: "install ipod accord pictures"). Also, this product works fine with the ipod touch. They have also "unlocked" the device when its playing in playlist mode so that you can access other features (ie safari, youtube, etc) while music is still playing through the "ipod" function of your itouch... I dont recommend this while driving (duh). Audio quality is excellent, on the itouch, i can still use the equalizer in the ipod or the one on the navigation screen, which is a nice feature if you like fine-tuning audio like I do. It would have been nice if they supported a text display on the navigation screen, but i'll settle for the track and playlist number. Also, there is a slight lag between pressing buttons on the steering wheel/radio and getting a response from the ipod. I have taken multiple pictures of the installation process and would happily share them if anyone needs help installing their own usa spec in their 2003 accord. I dont know if amazon supports a PM feature, but if it doesn't, facebook message (USC) me and I'll see what I can do.
Probably the best 120 bucks I've ever spent on my car.
Installed in '98 Honda Accord SedanSeptember 29, 2007 found detailed installation instructions for honda cd changer to dismantle clock, a/c faceplate, under radio cover, shifter cover, etc on [...]. Use these instructions to install this ipod adapter. Mine is in my center armrest compartment. I can use factory radio and steering wheel radio controls. Sounds better than CD...more bass!!!
