Additionally, the unit offers an advanced conversational voice recognition system for hands-free dialing of compatible Bluetooth enabled cell phones and control of an entire music collection on an iPod player.

For extra convenience, SD memory filled with additional Points of Interest information or compressed audio and video, slides directly into the SD card slot located in front of each unit. When any external device is plugged in, the systems will instantly recognize the source allowing users access and control through the touch panel display and/or voice control (iPod only). Pioneer also added a mini-jack A/V input on the face of each unit for immediate connection to other portable devices, such as camcorders and video players. The system utilizes flash memory to obtain quicker mapping information and allow an ?always on? navigation state. The comprehensive map database from Tele Atlas covers the entire United States, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii enabling users to route to millions of destinations. The database includes more than 12-million points of interest (POI), for destinations such as gas stations, ATMs, hotels and restaurants which can be easily searched either near a current location, or close to a specified destination.
lil slow but does the job very wellJanuary 7, 2009 Gr8 unit for the price ($425.00) i would say better than the dvd playback. because there is sd card slot and usb as well where u can store movies (30 movies on 16gb usb stick dvd rip to xvid/divx) and playback on ur unit. isn't that awesome. navi is very decent. few things i did not like about the unit: slow start up (30-90 seconds) where some units i seen are up running in 15 seconds. And there is no third party downloads that i have found yet. Other than that best unit in that price range.
SO NICE!December 31, 2008 I have wanted one of these since I bought my Scion XB. I installed it myself. It took about 4 hours cause I wanted to take my time and do it right. I also bought an XM receiver to go with it. I love this unit. It is awesome. I got the latest firmware and it boots up real fast. Previous reviews had me looking at the Kenwood Nav system, but now that I have it installed I am so glad I went with this unit. Easy to use, easy to navigate. Comes with built in bluetooth, everyone says the sound is great when I call them. So many functions and features. I plug my iPod into it and it plays awesome, XM is so clear and clean. Navigation is more accurate than my Garmin unit I have. I highly recommend this unit. It looks like it was made for the Scion XB It looks and works awesome.
I Love it.. added Value to my carDecember 24, 2008 first of all customer service was great recieved my pioneer on time had someone installed for me took about an hour.. the navigator is awesome , paired my phone with it and voila hands free i can dial hang up and not have to touch my phone.. a friend recomended this but he has the old version mine does much more than his awesome.. I own a Rav4 Toyota and this player just brought a whole diferent image to my car. its everything i can want from a device and much more. thank you
Not bad for the moneyDecember 18, 2008 I've had the F700BT for about three months now. I like most of the features a lot. There are some bugs that still need to be worked out.
~ The navigation systems works very well. The only thing I don't like is that it won't tell you if your "arrive at destination" is on the right or left. That's annoying.
~ The interface with my iTouch, CD and Sirrius Satellite Radio is awesome. It works extremely well. My only complaint is that when I receive a phone call, it mutes the music, but it doesn't pause it. If I'm on a long phone call, I could miss three or four songs.
~ The phone clarity is good on both ends. My complaint is that it won't display all the addresses in my phone book. Of the 193 numbers I have, it only displays about 15. I've got the Blackberry Curve, and I just updated with the new firmware. The phone still doesn't work like it should. I can use the phone, but the phone numbers diplayed on the screen are useless to me, because they all read "unknown number".
I still rate it 4 stars because other than the phone features, it's an awesome unit. I would recommend buying it online (as opposed to Best Buy or Circuit City) because you'll find it much cheaper.
