Nice CBAugust 11, 2008 Well worth the money and is really nice and compact. Built an overhead enclosure for it in my hotrod pickup and it really worked out nice.

My first unit had bad popping noises that came from a bad microphone connector on the unit. The 2nd unit I received did not have this problem, but when power is applied it starts on channel 33, the first unit was channel 9 which is what it should start on per the manual. So I really feel you could have some issue that is minor that your unit is not perfect.
Also I attempted to use the unit without a microphone attached and it requires the microphone for the internal speaker to work, kinda a weird design. My other complaint with it is that I believe with it powered down (complete power removed) it should retain the last channel you were on. Having to change the channel every time you turn the car on, I take it between vehicles and use a cigarette light and my cigarette light looses power when the car is off. I like things to go off with the car ignition so I don't have to power things on and off every time I get in the car.
The tuning knob is not of the highest quality, it can jump 2 channels when you click it once, and if you don't click it all way it will start running through the channels. But for the price you are getting it for it does seem to receive well with the Wilson Lil Wil antenna. Can't complain too much for the price, Im happy.

Good radio with such a priceFebruary 8, 2008 The radio is over all good with such a low price. The broadcasting distance is about 5 miles on high way. All the channels are reset to channel 9 if you disconnect the power. That means by connecting the radio's power wire to the fuse or battery, when you turn off the car's engine, the power is still there and enables the radio to remember the channel you were using. By turning on/off the radio with the knob, the channel remains the same as you used before.
If you connect your cb radio's power to the cigarette liter, when turning off your car's engine, no power supply is there anymore and your radio will forget the channel you were using. Your radio will reset all the channel to channel 9.
This feature can be simply improved by a capacity -- my suggestion. Anyway, I'd like to rate it @ 4.5 stars, if no such a choice, then 5 stars.
