1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY - CLASS ACTION SUIT SUBMITTED ON 11/16/08   November 28, 2008
We purchased LTV32W3TV in 9/20/07 and began having problems with various colored screen distortions and sound. I was told by Westinghouse Customer Service that it was a integrate computer problem.I was to send it to them.I shipped it to Westinghouse Digital Electronics in Santa Fe Springs, Ca. 90670 on September 26, 2008 at a cost of $89.85.. They received my TV on October 2, 2008. I was led to believe they would replace it with same model or new model. However, I learned later it would be a refurbished TV.

I have contacted Westinghouse Customer Service some 14 times, always asking them where is my TV. They always tell
me the status is unknown, even though their records show they received the TV. I have spoken three times with their supervisor (Vivian), who continues to tell the same story. Status unknown.
On November 15, 2008 I stated to Supervisior Vivian, I am in the process of requesting a CLass Action Suit. I submitted a request for Class Action Suit to Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP on their website on Nov. 16, 2008
As of November 19, 2008 Westinghouse Customer Service now stated my order is now in process. We will see!!!
My investigations reveal: BBB Santa Fe Springs, Ca shows 250 various complaints with Westinghouse. Also numerous complaints on TV's , [...] and Crutchfield.

2 out of 5 stars Approach with caution   May 5, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

We purchased this TV from Best Buy less than two years ago. We "needed" something affordable to "maximize the abilities" of the XBOX 360. I foolishly did not review this product beforehand. After reading through the reviews today, I would say use caution when approaching this TV.

This morning the TV will not turn on. The screen remains black. If somehow it does manage to start, it is only for a second and then stays very dimly lit, as if you are looking at your laptop screen when it is running on its battery as compared to when it is plugged into the wall.

I am calling around for repair quotes and finding them to be rather expensive to start. Westinghouse will not help me at all. The TV was fabulous while it lasted, but I can't say it was worth $350 a year.

3 out of 5 stars Worked 22 mos then NOTHING   April 25, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I bought this t.v. in June '06 and had no problems for almost two years. Today, I turned on the t.v. and it powered on, but the screen just stayed blue (back light, I think). No sound, no picture. I unplugged it and powered up...same thing again. The t.v. will not shut off via buttons (only unplugging it works) and I can not pull up the menu or switch the source. Called Westinghouse and they are going to replace it, even though its warranty has been up for 10 mos. After reading the other reviews about replacements, I'm a bit worried! Up until today there have been no major problems, although the t.v. likes to turn on by itself and the menu button works sporadically. Other than that, it's been great. Hopefully, Westinghouse doesn't send me a lemon.

1 out of 5 stars piece of junk   April 15, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

BUYER BEWARE - mine lasted a little over 18 mths.I started having problems after about 6 mths but Westinghouse's online service kept assuring me that the issue was my cabling, power connection & sattelite hook-up. I was getting a rolling screen after the set had been on a few minutes - but it usually stopped after a few seconds , so I just dealt with it. But then the episodes starting happening more often and lasting longer. So after spending hours and not a few $$$'s on new cabling & re-wiring the plug hook-ups in my living room & having DISH come out & give my entire set-up a check up - I finally got an independent 3rd party (TV repairman) to come look at it. By then I was getting a picture about 15 minutes each hour - the rest of the time it was just fuzzy colors in a revovling pattern. Then I went thru the company I bought the TV from only to find out that this model has basically been discontinued (gee-I wonder why!!!!)I just found out that my extended warranty isn't much better than the tv was & I'm looking at about a 30 day wait for Westinghhouse to give the vendor an RA so they can finish processing my return. NEVER AGAIN - DO NOT BUT THIS TV OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM WESTINGHOUSE. If a 0 star rating was available- that is what I would give this piece of junk and then a -10 for Westinghouse's CS department !!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great picture and features for a great price   January 27, 2008
Compare this tv to others with the 720p spec and the similarities are endless, but look at it in person, and adjust the contract and color controls and you will find this is a revelation. Great value for the money. Perhaps not as good as the top line Sony Brava, but for for the price great picture and much better than some of the cheaper sets now being imported with names no one has ever heard of.

So far, features, while modest, are fine for my system. Sound quality is pretty good, but when hooked up to a home theater system, great results. The sets upconverting circuitry is quite good and teamed with a progressive player quite good contrast and sharpmness. Do not have player with HDMI so I cannot test this connection.

Good set, great price. Would buy it again in 32".
