Alice CooperDecember 1, 2008 awsome! this was my first Cooper concert with my husband... It was good to finally find it out on dvd
Alice Cooper The Nightmare Returns TourNovember 2, 2008 This is a great concert, Alice Cooper at his best. Great music and theater production all in one.
Stormtrooper AliceJuly 3, 2008 Alice takes the stage with a vengeance in this epic documentation of his mid eighties tour. This is one of his bloodiest and most violent documentations of his act. The only complaint I have is that it did not get the full digitally enhanced treatment. This was obviously a direct copy from the vhs tape recording. The band is great and Alice performs as though he had broken out of the asylum and is bursting with energy and a thousand new desires he focused on in his time away. Personally I would like to see him issue a dvd from his early 80's period as I think that is a very overlooked period of his career. I have yet to hear an Alice record I didn't like and the fact that that "Flush The Fashion", "Zipper Catches Skin", "Special Forces", and "Dada" go so ignored is an unfortunate loss to many fans. "Make That Money ( Scrooge's Song)" and "I Love America" would fit well into his act in this age of confused patroitism and greed. Alot of subpar bands ( one claiming to be Lynyrd Skynyrd) have profitted in a very tasteless manner off of the 9-11 attacks. Alice would meet little resistance for mocking such grotesque and shameless opportunist.
Alice is BackAugust 8, 2007 There has never been a rock star like Alice Cooper, and though there are many other concert videos that presents many phases of his career..."The Nightmare Returns" is probably the best. Fresh out a second stint with rehab, and admitting himself this was the tour that saw him playing totally sober in front of audiences. I also marked the return to the musical style that had pushed Alice Cooper to the top of the charts through most of the seventies. On Halloween 1986, Alice returned to the place of his birth (and by the way mine too) to perform a concert broadcast live on MTV. This show is the result. Remastering the sound and vidwo has improved this already powerful performance which features a tight band headed by muscleman guitarist Kane Roberts and infamous bassist Kip Winger. The set is just as tight featuring many cuts from the then new "Constrictor" album including a fitful and magically delivered "Tennage Frankenstein" and anthemic "The World Needs Guts". It also has all the Alice classics like "18", "Billion Dollar Babies", "School's Out" and of coures opening the set with an entrance like only Alice can make, "Welcome to My Nightmare". The staging is just as visually stunning as has been part of the Alice Cooper persona ever since the very earliest of days. But as any Alice fan knows, the songs stand alone, and the visuals are a major overwhelmingly exciting plus. A true fan will want to collect many of the other available video titles (as I have) but if you are looking for one concert video that shows Alice Cooper personafied...this is one. The possible only detractor to that would be if you are looking for Alice's best selling single "Poison", it did not yet exsist when this show was performed, you won't get it. This is however the very best way to entertain a Halloween party, escpecially considering this was the day it was perfromed.
Nightmare Returns!July 24, 2007 This is a great concert to review Alice in the 80's. He has a little bit of the 70's Alice and 80's ALice combined, however I still miss the Alice Cooper Band from 1968-1974. That was the best. However this video is excellent, any ALice Cooper fan wont be disappointed
