It also reveals how she applied these concepts to her own emotional, spiritual, and professional life. You Can Heal Your Life ~ DVDNovember 25, 2008 This was a very well done film By Louise hay and friends. I have followed Louise Hays work like most of us for many years . Louise being there front runner in metaphysical teachings of: Visualization,manifestation,inner-child work and Identifying your thoughts that create your out come. Thank you Louise you are the teacher of the teachers your work will be forever sought. For those who tried to compare it too the Secret This wonderful film covers more then one Law much substance If you follow her work. If you liked the Secret you will you love this film.
Excellent, Including the 2nd DVD with InterviewsNovember 23, 2008 Overall, I found the material in the movie and most of the interviews on the second disk to be excellent. I cannot yet say whether these techniques on the law of attraction, manifesting reality, etc. really work. However, after watching these DVDs, I'm very enthusiastic about trying these techniques and learning more.
amazing and life-changingNovember 12, 2008 This DVD changed my life. It reminded me of what I already knew. That we are all one-that shame and guilt do not effect change.
Excellent, thought-provoking materialNovember 8, 2008 I really have enjoyed this movie (really more of a documentary). The editing, production & directing is top-notch.
I've watched it more times than I can count & have recommended it to others. It has helped me tremendously in keeping my focus on what I think & say. The main premise of the movie is: what you say effects your life. In my opinion this is much more in-depth than the movie "The Secret" & a great companion or next step.
There is also an Affirmation Toolkit that allows you to choose between 5 different areas such as "self", "health", "work", "relationships" & "prosperity". Each section repeats 3 affirmations supporting the chosen area, & they gently overlay soft music. It also offers the music alone which you can play while you meditate on your own affirmations. Each selection will loop continuously until you decide to shut if off, so you can play it all night if you would like to try some subliminal work while you sleep.
The second DVD is loaded with the actual interviews of the 10 people interviewed for the main movie -- all are excellent interviews & worth watching many times. (A detailed list is on Cathy W's excellent review.) Only exception that I have personally is Ester Hicks. She seems like a nice lady & offerers some excellent insights, just can't get past the so-called channeling of a disembodied spirit thing. Christian's may have a problem with this, along with where Louise Hay directs someone to look into a mirror & she says "the only Saviour is yourself". But to be fair, this can be taken several different ways (after-all Jesus said the kingdom of God was WITHIN - right?) So I urge fellow Christian's not to allow this to stand in the way of some great teaching on God's divine laws of attraction. I also recommend teachings by Joe Dispenza if you would like to explore the physiological workings of the brain (sort of the "how's" & "why's" of the way our thoughts & words effect our physical world). See my review of his DVD: "Your Immortal Brain: Mastering the Art of Observation" that has both good & negative points (5 stars for content - 2 stars for production).
The only reason I can not give this movie 5 stars is because I have had problems with DVD #1 stalling in my player. I have had it replaced once by Amazon (replacement was shipped so fast that I received it before I even returned the defective one!). However, the replacement DVD also stalls in the exact same spot. I called Amazon & they suggested this may be due to an encryption in the master DVD, in which case they might all stall in my particular player. I don't have problems with any other DVD's that I play - just this one. I've decided to keep it because it's well worth it (I am able to "nudge" it past the stall, so it's not a total loss). My other complaint would be the slightly less than stellar sound engineering/mixing. It may have sounded great in a theater with full surround sound, but with our home sound system we find it extremely difficult to make out anything that is said by the "Journey Woman" in the movie. (She is the fictional character who begins the opening sequence of the movie in a very negative, destructive mindset, but slowly emerges into a woman determined to take control of her fledging life by taking control of her thoughts.) This is very well played out -- if only she didn't mumble so badly or the sound were better amplified above the music.
There was also some very minor "digitizing" of Louse Hay's voice on the "Self" opening affirmation in the toolkit. This also appeared on both of my DVD sets (indicating another sound engineer's mistake) but is so soft it is hardly noticeable & easily ignored.
Except for the encryption & minor sound glitches, I whole-heartedly recommend this DVD.
Not as mind-blowing as "The Secret" but still very motivationalNovember 7, 2008 I really liked this DVD and love all of Louise Hay's work. She has a wonderfully compassionate and non-judgmental way of connecting with the listener that makes anyone feel accepted and loved. This DVD isn't as ground-breaking as the "Secret"The Secret (Extended Edition) in my opinion, but it's still worth purchasing. It's completely different in the approach and the production, but the essential message is similar: that you are your thoughts. So think happy things and eventually you'll be happy too!! It works!
