Awesome deal for the priceJanuary 2, 2009 I bought this for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas, but actually gave it to her a couple weeks early. She has hardly put it down since then! (just to recharge while she sleeps!) She REALLY loves it. The first MP3 she's owned, and it only took about an hour for her to feel comfortable with it. The camera is not the greatest, but it takes fairly decent pics - (the MP3 was main function she wanted anyway & that alone would make this device a great deal, all extras besides were just icing), and she has already replaced the earbuds with better quality, but for the money this is an awesome deal. It only took about 1 week to arrive from Idaho to east US - way earlier than Amazon's estimated delivery time. It came in a nice box making it easy gift-giving. This player has been used almost continuously since she has received it, and so far, there have been no problems. It's a really nice looking device, and most of her friends think it's a touch iPod, until she tells them differently.
pro ebiz 8gb model is excellentDecember 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pro ebiz player is really great, it has a neat camera mode with about seven different modes to play with, zoom x4, speed of photo taken x6, picture size x5,brightness x5, color hue x5, along with light sensitivity changer x6, along with pixel settings x4, wich is excellent for all types of photos. It also takes low quality videos in mp4 format, the pictures are jpeg. The music player is again excellent, not only can you play most music formats, but in has a lyrics reader. (a lycric writer also comes with the mp4 disk.) plus the playlist mode is very user friendly. The player also has a alright video player, it runs avi videos at 320X240 with dvix encoding, the player comes with a disk which has all the codecs you need and media players to make a smooth transition to converting most movies file to xvid avi format, which also compresses the video so you can have a lot of videos on it. the photo viewer is nicely made with smooth transitions & a slideshow option. The players radio is not very user friendly, but you can figure it out in about 15 minutes. It can save about 20 presets, & has about 4 different radio modes. The player also has a text reader or e-book, that you can set to time the pages to turn or manual turn the pages on it. However the recorder is not high quality, it tends to pick up all noise however if speak louder then most background noise you can hear yourself quiet clearly. The game on here is tetris, it's kind of slow, with no speed up button either. Now here are few problems with this player, the audio jack isn't the best, but it will work when you adjust your headphone pair to a set place. The other problem is sensitivity, it's more like one of those cheap touch screen feel, & picks up more like buttons. All considered though, for about 70$ it is well worth it, & I would definitly think about buying a new product by these people when it comes out.
good... Deserves a 4/5December 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well i Received the product 2 days ago, It arrived earlier then i expected. So pretty fast shipping and i live in Turkey. It arrived 6 days earlier.
Cons: Touch Screen is not very sensitive, there is no place to put the Pen in. Also The Converter programs are pretty confusing because there are too many.
Pros: it is a pretty good mp4/mp3. it has a 8GB memory, It comes with Silicon protector which is useful, and the Earphones are good. Also it can play videos and has a Radio. But a slight problem in videos is sometimes the screen goes green while fast forwarding. the Battery Life is long like 4+ hours (i couldn't really keep track) and you can play your songs by Shuffle option or Repeat e.t.c
Other then that it can play games (only 1 installed) Which isnt bad. More Software can be installed in it but i didnt try yet. The camera is i think 1 or 2 mega pixels . So average. It can be a nice Gift to any one and i recommend it.
If you want a cheap Chinese knockoff, this is the thing for you! If not? well...December 26, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all, reading through these reviews, I seriously think that several different versions are being reviewed here. There are people talking about CDs and firmware upgrades, mine did not come with a CD. Some people said that the software only helped if you had Win98, others referred to software that would convert video - I wish it had been included, because it was not easy to find. More on that below.
If you are someone who has fairly picky standards for your gadgets, please, save your money and buy an iPod touch. I wish I had. But, my 11 year old thinks it's cool because it has the touch screen, and it does work, so it's not like i can send it back. For the price (around[...] at this writing), it's decent, but it tries to be too many things for that amount of money, and would have been better off if it had done fewer things, and done them better.
For those of you, like me, trying to make the best of this gadget, here are some observations and tips:
The screen: is not tremendously responsive. Also, the system is extremely laggy. Tap, and wait. Scrolling down the list of files is a bit tricky - tapping the arrows at the top or bottom will make it move down one screen, but might not let you get all the way to the bottom, and if you click once too many, it bounces back up. Carefully click-dragging the scrollbar works, but not well.
Music player: no complaints. It's actually kind of nice to navigate by folder rather than by the various meta tags - though if you're used to having those lists by album/artist/genre, well, it could be a little annoying. I'm fine with the folders.
FM Radio: why bother? Maybe it gets reception outside, but, I gave up after tuning into the closest/most powerful stations and getting loads of static.
Camera: well, in bright daylight, it is about as good as a mediocre camera phone from a few years ago. If you absolutely must take a picture, it will ... after a while. It really, really lags after you click camera. Video: again, quality similar to an old camera phone. Better than no camera, but not by much.
Games: Game, actually. Tetris. Can't figure out if there's a way to 'hurry up' the bricks when they're moving slowly, and without that, I lack the patience to get through the first level at that painfully slow speed. Another why bother.
Videos: If you didn't get a CD with some software to convert video, you can download it here:[...](you will want the Sonix7 Pro version). If the video you're converting is in the 16x9 aspect ratio, make sure to select that before encoding, and it will pad the video. [...] is a good resource also, it explains a lot of details about the ROCKCHIP (which this player uses). Getting the video to actually play is a little tricky, especially if the movie is full-length. i find it easier to select a tiny short video and then click the forward arrows to get to the larger video, otherwise it seems like it's never going to start.
Oh, and the headphones are just terrible.
So, with music and video both working at this point, I'm ready to say I'm relatively happy with this little gadget, though I only recommend it if you really, really want a cheap Chinese knockoff and are willing to put up with a very slow, laggy interface, and a *lot* of annoying quirks. It does have a nice screen for watching movies, and it does store a lot of media with the 8GB on board and optional micro SD.
Still, I should have held out for an iPod. If nothing else I'd have about 8 hours of my life back, that I spent trying to figure out the video encoding before finally finding the software. Oh well, you live and you learn. At any rate, you live :)
not worth itDecember 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
well I opened it and it's smaller than I thought. I tried the camera which "is total cr#p", it takes ugly pictures and the camera the same thing. I think toys for kids that have cameras are better than this product. it plays mp3 songs, well I only have mp3 song. The radio works, it wouldn't at the beginning. I just press where it says auto. and sometimes it doesn't play when I unplug the earphones. It comes with just one "a game very simple one". it doesn't play .avi like it says. I don't know what was the problem, but Its wouldn't install on my computer, and I got the lastest laptop there is HP I tried it on my PC and it wouldn't install. it has a converter for video files, which I used but this product but it didn't recognized it as a file. I tried many but they didn't work. not mp4 videos. not flv videos. This product came with a file that said it was avi video, but when I added the videos to it, they didn't work. The earphones are very cheap so better buy better ones. It does record songs played on FM radio. I'm still trying to me it work.
