Works Great - Very LoudNovember 11, 2008 I have owned this little unit for over two years and it works very well. You are able to control both the volume and the tone so that you can remove any "hiss" from the higher frequencies. It is very loud when cranked up. It has a boost function which is even louder - but I haven't even needed to try it. The battery is voice activated to save energy. Runs on an ordinary 9v alkaline battery. The only thing I would have liked better is if it was the color black instead of white.

I bought this for my grandfather so he could hear better on the phone. I turned up the volume and called him from my cell phone. He said "Stop yelling at me!" ;) so it worked quite well. He only needed it at 1/3 volume and seems to like it.
