Noisy on amApril 19, 2008 This adapter was noisy on am stations when used with the sony radio. Found a generic at Radio Shack , however, that worked just fine and was quiet for about the same price.
Great, but some static interferenceFebruary 8, 2008 Product does everything it says. It does tend to have a little more static interference than just using it on battery power, but not all the time and not enough to make it annoying.

After reading these reviews I decided to try a different adaptor for the Sony radio I purchased from Amazon. The first one I purchased from RadioShack produced the same type of interference as was reported by several people here. I returned that one and purchased a different model which works fine with the Sony radio and produces no interference. The model that works is RadioShack 273-1765. It is a 4.5 V - 700 mA AC-to-DC Adapter. This model costs $ 22.99.
Do Not Buy for AM RadioDecember 4, 2007 Had same problem as others with this power supply as it imparts loud interference due to being a switching supply. It will not work with AM radios yet this is the accessory that Amazon lists for the Sony ICF-M410V portable radio. It even states this on the package but not in the ads.
