Product Description Once again, Sharp, a leader in LCD technology, establishes a new design standard for LCD TVs. With a screen size class of 52", the AQUOS LC-52D64U raises the bar by fitting large screen sizes into incredibly small footprints. By changing the layout of circuits inside the LCD panel and by reducing the number of parts, Sharp engineers developed the Slim-line design, which reduces depth by 25%, allowing placement of the LC-52D64U in virtually any setting. The LC-52D64U utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View / Black TFT Panel with multi-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Enhanced Picture Contrast Technology and 4ms response time. The LC-52D64U features built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and includes 3 HDMI (version 1.3) inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, a PC input and 2 HD component video inputs. Side terminals are included for wall-mounting convenience as well as RS-232C input for control.

After careful use and adequate shakedown time, I find this LCD TV remarkably great. It is sharp and the visual angels of view are equally great. However, the black shiny plastic bezels is easy to scratch, and cannot be cleaned well due to this fact. Secondly the display is not as bright as it should be. Most images are darker when compared to other LCD screens.
Could be betterOctober 27, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Almost all in this TV is right, the only one problem that I can see is the black color "it have not realism" as the others colors, therefore, for the money that paid I think could live with it.
very expensive mistakeOctober 11, 2008 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
Sharp Aquos LC52D64U is horrible, it was delivered 3 weeks ago and I have spent all my tv viewing time since trying to tweak it. Impossible to get colors right and when you get close on one channel, you invariably have to re-adjust on next channel. Picture is only clear on up close shots, as soon as video switches to a medium to distant shot , all is out of focus. Same for DVD'S. My old Panosonic 32 inch CRT has 10 times better picture and I have never had to adjust the settings....ever! Sharp support was no help, they stated that this was a HDTV and I could not expect to get a decent picture on non-HD channels. This is unbelievable, why would anyone buy a TV that you can only watch 6 channels or so, out of 200. Besides the HD channels only are clear on close up shots also, anything else is out of focus. I will give Sharp one more chance/call and then I will send this item back, as my return window will expite shortly.

After it arrived, we could not believe the clarity and the quality it presented. We are very pleased with this purchase.
Great picture, but needs some tweaking out of the boxSeptember 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a terrific large flat panel TV. The sharpness and color is exceptional. The factory defaults were too saturated, however, and took some adjustment.

The 5.1 channel home-theater-in-a-box system features five tiny speakers - each about the size of a golf ball. The system, matched with a compact, single disc DVD/CD player/receiver, includes a unique subwoofer that helps the tiny speakers create sounds typically reserved for full size speakers.
While the system features small speakers, it packs all the power of conventional home theater-in-a-box systems with 450 watts of total system power (satellite speakers 50W x 5, plus 2-way subwoofer 100W x 2). The system is specially tuned to deliver a natural sound field that takes the focus off the subwoofer while supplementing mid range and lower frequencies.
