Batteries don't last forever.June 5, 2008 I liked these because they were cheap. The charging cradle or some other plug in for these units is non-existent. The additional money 20 bucks or so is better spent on another brand. I don't have a recommend but these have two contacts on the bottom for a charging cradle. So those two contacts reach into your mind and say "Your going to run out of batteries. Why didn't you get a set that you could leave one at home plugged into the kitchen and another you could plug into the car?" These contacts are not useful like the standard DC charging plugs and even if you buy their models that use a "Y" charger you still can't do what you need without charging down time. These are only as reliable as your batteries( if you notice when they ran out). Not reliable enough to peak my wife's interest. No substitute for a good cell phone. Otherwise they work good and are clear and loud and have good reception in shouting distance.
